You are curious, persistent, logical and clever – a true techie at heart. Candidate will be the onsite liasion to client and managing offshore team of 4 working out of Client site in Asia.
What You Will Be Doing
- Estimation, analysis and evaluation of the development of new applications, migration of current applications, and so on
- Leading offshore development teams for several upcoming projects
- Communication with the stakeholders (mostly engineers) on the customer side
- Hands-on building of backend Python applications for data processing operations
- Design, deploy, manage and document a CI/CD pipeline for a massive scale, highly available, fault tolerant, multi-tenant SAAS application
- Writing unit and integration tests
- Performing regular code reviews
What You Need for this Position
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, another technical field
- Demonstrated ability managing both onshore & offshore project teams.
- Lead software engineers.
- Needs deep understanding of migrating from Python 2 to Python 3 using automation and AWS.
- 7+ years development experience with Python
- Proficiency in Python and shell scripting for services
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years hands-on experience with DevOps technologies
- Experience managing Jenkins or similar environments and creating workflows for continuous service integration, testing, and deployment. This includes setting up automatic code pulls from Git, building the code, packaging it (into OS packages and/or containers), deploying the packages into the AWS cloud, configurating various AWS cloud resources, starting automated tests and reporting results via dashboards
- Broad knowledge of creating/managing AWS services
- Experience enabling automation with tools like Jenkins and Ansible/Chef/Puppet
